Japanese Language Course
From first words to fluent conversation — master Japanese with ICLS Malaysia
Learn Japanese in Malaysia with Confidence
Japanese remains one of the most sought-after languages in Southeast Asia, driven by strong trade relations between Malaysia and Japan, a thriving expatriate community, and the enduring popularity of Japanese culture. At ICLS, our Japanese Language Course has been a cornerstone of our curriculum since the school was founded in 1990, and we have helped thousands of students achieve their language goals over the past three decades.
Our programme is structured around the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) framework, ensuring that every hour you spend in the classroom moves you closer to an internationally recognised qualification. Whether you need Japanese for career advancement, university admission in Japan, or personal enrichment, our curriculum is designed to build all four core skills — listening, speaking, reading, and writing — in a balanced and practical way.
Every class at ICLS is taught or co-taught by a native Japanese instructor. This means you are exposed to authentic pronunciation, natural speech patterns, and the subtle nuances of keigo (polite language) from the very first lesson. Our teaching team combines native fluency with formal training in Japanese language pedagogy, so lessons are structured, engaging, and adapted to the needs of Malaysian learners.
Cultural immersion is woven into every level of the programme. Beyond textbooks and grammar drills, students participate in seasonal cultural events, calligraphy workshops, and conversation clubs that bring the language to life. We believe that understanding Japanese culture is essential to truly mastering the language, and our students consistently tell us that these experiences are among the most memorable parts of their learning journey.
ICLS offers both full-time and part-time schedules to accommodate working professionals, university students, and anyone with a busy lifestyle. Full-time intensive classes meet five days a week and are ideal for those preparing for study or work in Japan on a tight timeline. Part-time evening and weekend classes allow you to progress steadily without disrupting your existing commitments. Both tracks follow the same syllabus and lead to the same outcomes — the only difference is the pace.
