European Language Courses
German, French, Spanish, and Italian — open doors across Europe and beyond
Explore Europe Through Language
Europe is home to some of the world's most influential economies, renowned universities, and vibrant cultures. Whether you are preparing for postgraduate study in Germany, planning a career move to a French-speaking country, expanding business ties with Spain, or simply fulfilling a lifelong dream of conversing in Italian, ICLS offers structured and effective European language courses right here in Malaysia.
All of our European language programmes follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the internationally recognised standard that defines proficiency from A1 (beginner) through C2 (mastery). This means your ICLS certificate is understood and valued by employers, universities, and immigration authorities worldwide. Students who require official certification can also prepare for internationally recognised examinations through our focused test preparation modules.
Our European language instructors are a mix of native speakers and highly qualified Malaysian teachers who have studied and lived in Europe. Every instructor holds a relevant degree or professional teaching certificate and brings genuine enthusiasm for sharing their language and culture. Classes are conducted primarily in the target language from an early stage, with English used only when necessary for clarification, because immersion — even in small doses — accelerates acquisition.
German
German is the most widely spoken native language in the European Union and the key to opportunities in engineering, automotive, finance, and technology. Germany is also one of the few countries that offers tuition-free university education, making German proficiency a gateway to affordable world-class higher education. Our German programme prepares students for the Goethe-Zertifikat and TestDaF examinations and covers everything from everyday conversation to academic and professional German. Students learn to navigate German grammar — including its case system, gendered nouns, and complex word order — through clear explanations and extensive practice.
French
French is spoken across five continents and is an official language of the United Nations, the European Union, and numerous international organisations. In Malaysia, French is increasingly valued in the hospitality, aviation, and diplomatic sectors. Our French programme builds from basic greetings and survival phrases through to fluent discussion and formal writing. Students preparing for the DELF or DALF examinations receive targeted practice in listening, reading, writing, and oral production. Cultural elements — from French cinema to cuisine — are woven into lessons to keep motivation high and learning contextual.
Spanish
Spanish is the second most spoken native language in the world and is the primary language of over twenty countries. It is an increasingly important language for international trade, particularly as Latin American economies continue to grow. Our Spanish programme covers Peninsular and Latin American Spanish, so students are prepared for communication across the entire Spanish-speaking world. From conjugating verbs in the present tense to debating social issues using the subjunctive mood, our curriculum takes a communicative approach that gets you speaking from day one. Students can also prepare for the DELE examination.
Italian
Italian is the language of art, music, fashion, and food — and it is also the gateway to studying at some of the oldest and most respected universities in the world. Our Italian programme is ideal for students, professionals in the design and fashion industry, and anyone captivated by Italian culture. Classes progress from essential phrases and pronunciation through to reading literature and discussing current affairs. Students interested in formal certification can prepare for the CILS or CELI examinations through our guided preparation modules.
